01Starting point

Jowel had a logo, an Instagram account and his calendar on Treatwell. His Google listing linked to Instagram, sat in the «Hair salon» category, and its booking button led to Treatwell. The reviews were good (5.0 from 61 on Treatwell and 4.8 from 24 on Google, checked on 7 October 2026), but they lived on platforms that weren't his.

02The problem

Anyone looking for a barber in La Torrassa reached Jowel through someone else: an Instagram profile and a marketplace that put his calendar right next to the competition. He had no address of his own saying what he does, what it costs and how to book. And Jowel doesn't want to take appointments by WhatsApp or phone: while he's cutting, he can't answer.

03The objective

A site of his own whose main job is booking, with the calendar in the shop's Google Calendar, and a brand with a system that holds up the same on the shopfront, on social media and on screen.

04The strategy

In order: brand manual first, then the photos, and the website last. Bookings move to Cal.com connected to the shop's Google Calendar, replacing Treatwell, with one appointment type per service, its real duration and the same opening hours as the Google listing. Each service has its own page in Spanish and English, to show up in local searches such as «men's haircut».

05Art direction

A 30-page manual, «Precisión con oficio» (precision with craft), built from the logo he already had: the razor crossing the J, six neutrals from black to bone, Cinzel and Montserrat. The photos come from our own shoot in the shop: Jowel with the clippers against black, the shopfront with the neon J, the interior and real clients, all with image consent.

06Design

The home page is the photo and the line, and the «Book» button stays with you across the whole page. Services with prices, a gallery of real cuts and the shop with its address by the metro. Subtle effects switch on by themselves depending on the date (snow at Christmas, fog at Halloween) and respect the reduced-motion setting.

07Development

Hand-written code, no site builder. The booking calendar is custom-built on Cal.com: the appointment lands in the shop's Google Calendar and every booking is copied to a Google Sheets spreadsheet. GA4 with consent and an event for every booking, barbershop structured data and an English version. On mobile Lighthouse it scores 100 for accessibility, 100 for SEO and between 87 and 94 for performance.

08The result

Bookings no longer depend on Treatwell: every appointment goes straight into Jowel's Google Calendar and is copied to his Sheets spreadsheet, with no marketplace putting the competition next to him. Services, prices, photos, reviews and calendar are all in one place, and that place is his. How many bookings it brings is measured in GA4, and we'll share it when there's data, not before.
